Super Simple Spirelli card

Hello Crafty people,

Today I am here with a very simple card. Its is a technique that we did in school as kids with a needle and thread but this much more simple than that. and I added a shaker element just add some interest. Hope you will enjoy this card. I stamped the sentiment on the inside. "FUN and Fabulous"

As a child I did not know that this is spirelli technique and so I thought i would a bit of info on this art for those of you who are not so familiar with the term like me :-) .
So here goes:

Spirelli or more commonly known as String art is characterized by an arrangement of colored thread strung between points to form geometric patterns or representational designs such as a ship's sails, sometimes with other artist material comprising the remainder of the work. Thread, wire, or string is wound around a grid of nails hammered into a velvet-covered wooden board. Though straight lines are formed by the string, the slightly different angles and metric positions at which strings intersect gives the appearance of Bézier curves (as in the mathematical concept of envelope of a family of straight lines). Quadratic Bézier curve are obtained from strings based on two intersecting segments. Other forms of string art include Spirelli, which is used for cardmaking and scrapbooking, and curve stitching, in which string is stitched through holes.

Looking forward to all your creations and Linking this card to the foloowing challenges!!

  4. Very creative card, great use of thread for something a bit different and I love the shaker element! I love your white embossed background panel, it's very stylish and has a great oriental feel -however the card might be itty bitty "full" to be considered as one of the winning cards: LIM is a clean and simple challenge and we like to see some portion of the card completely uncluttered. Your card is anyway very beautiful and elegant and I keep admiring your skills with that cool spirelli technique you used. Thanks for joining us at Less Is More!
